How do voice banks work?
When listening to the radio, watching TV or browsing the internet, we hear plenty of voices that catch our attention. Wondering how to hire one of them to record your own material? You can do it through a voice bank. Find out how such a service works and how to use it.
What are voice banks?
Voice banks are online platforms that gather samples from professional voice talents. Their purpose is to let clients find the right voice for their project: an advert, a film, an audiobook, a phone announcement or a multimedia presentation. In a voice bank you can not only listen to individual voice talents, but also compare their rates and find out how long you'll have to wait for the job to be completed.
Using a voice bank step by step
Using a voice bank is very simple. After visiting the website, listen to samples from selected male and female voice talents and choose the one that suits you best. Then contact the voice bank and let them know what project you want to carry out. If you're not sure which voice talent will be best for your material, the voice bank team will help you make the best choice.
Once the agreement is signed, the voice talent is invited to the studio, where they prepare the recording according to your expectations. For larger productions, several recording sessions may be needed. Once the recording is finished, the sound goes through post-production. Its purpose is to remove noise, breaths and other unwanted sounds, combine the individual signals into one, and add the final touches so the material sounds perfect. Once the recording is ready, you receive a file you can use for the intended purpose.
